The Cheetah Girls is a Disney Channel Original Movie based on a bestselling series of young adult books, The Cheetah Girls by Deborah Gregory.

The book series is about a girl singing group who seek to be discovered and become famous and land that ever-important recording contract. The film is about four teenage girls in New York seeking a record deal. They are discovered by a record producer while rehearsing for a school talent competition.

Due to the popularity of the film, Disney formed a singing group with all of the four lead actresses, also named "The Cheetah Girls".

The Cheetah Girls is a televison show picked up by ABC in 2003. After four episodes were filmed the show was delayed, because the contract for That's So Raven was renewed. Therefore, Raven would not have been able to film The Cheetah Girls. Now that That's So Raven is over, there is no news whether or not the show will start filming again. However is belived that this is not a possobility becuase of Raven's comments about "not doing another sitcom for a while". Many rumors have circulated that Raven will be playing Galleria in season one (or half of it) and will then leave the show because Galleria and her family moves to Spain to pursue her mother's fashion design carrer. Along with another actor Steven A. Massey to see if he will be in this sitcom as well. However nothing has confimed this.
